Overview

MovingOn is an animal-themed game show with a dark twist. It's like Night in the Woods meets Who Wants to be a Millionaire in this cute yet creepy game with animal contestants and an ominous host.

Moving On is a single-player narrative trivia game with a cute aesthetic that slowly evolves into a horror experience. The game is a short, punchy adventure that stays within its welcome with about a one-hour playtime. Gameplay consists of alternating between quiz rounds and interview sessions where the player chats with the game's mysterious host. As the player progresses, they discover the game's true nature: They are playing the classic game against Death itself, and winning is their only shot at living again. As the game progresses, the gameplay will shift with its tone, with the player trying to find factual answers and answers that will please the host.

Project Design Goals

  • Test and question players' mentality and morality by asking them about moral/social quantities through the lens of a simple Game Show.

  • Demonstrate a simple but detailed pixel-arty style.

  • Create a game that lures playing into a false sense of security with its cute art style before asking personal and unnerving questions.
